I'm batching it this week end

Post by Hovannes » Tue Jun 11, 2019 5:18 pm

The girls are off to Las Vegas for a birthday bash.
My son generally goes mountain climbing with his pals in Yosemite.
And I'll be right here.

I usually really enjoy the first day or two of bachelorhood. After that, not so much.

I don't do well unsupervised.

Rita is going on a 10 day adventure with a bunch of her girlfriends in July. Almost a week of that we'll be totally out of touch. In 30 years I don't think we've ever gone more than a day without talking.

As her mother ages, Mrs FredS is spending more time visiting her in AZ and giving me 2-3 days solo. While she's gone, I plan all sorts of exciting activities and meals that she doesn't care for. I usually end up ordering a pizza and sleeping in.

Like Jim, I don't do well unsupervised and I'll be in a world of hurt if she precedes me in death.

Me as well.
This would be a good chance to go camping if I didn't have the dog to take care of (What? Take the dog along? She's be coyote bait!)

Do you like the dog? If not, this could be an opportunity.
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.

I just dropped them off at the airport and I've already gotten into the tortilla chips and pico de gallo.

When my better half is gone, I eat garbage, don’t get to bed on time, and don’t keep the house very clean. In other words, I truly revert to bachelorhood.

It’s a good thing I’m already married. I think I’d have trouble roping another one.

Occasional time away from our mates is a good thing. Let there be spaces in your togetherness.
