Generosity of the CPS members

Post by arank87 » Sun Oct 06, 2019 7:02 pm

I just wanted to give a quick shout out to two CPS members who recently gifted me some very generous amounts of tobacco. The members of this board have always been generous with their time in posting tips for new smokers, sharing history and information, and generally being welcoming. Thank you especially to the two members who sent tobacco. Cheers!

Pics or it didn't happen, and all that. So, what exactly did these generous members send? The world wants to know.

Hopefully it wasn't Borkum Riff Cognac.

One time Dewey gave me some hardly-used Borkum Riff. Isaac gave me mono.

There’s some stuff from Goose in there too.

Yes, the Brown Flake. Philo has a distinctive packaging method.

Generous men, the both of them.

Looking forward to reading your impressions.

I'll never forget the comment a co-worker made when I asked him about the aroma of the Condor I was smoking,
he said it smelled like dirty socks with laundry detergent sprinkled on top!
Quite accurate description I'd reckon.
:)

You asked about the date of the B&H booklet and I'd guess it to be from the late 80's or thereabouts, their tagline was live in peace with your pipe for at least a decade.

Speaking of taglines,
I've always loved the Condor moment adverts (the submarine ad is one of the alltime best) and recently someone uploaded an earlier ad which played on the same theme:

There were probably others too with the same theme in the early 70's,
Benny Hill did a funny parody of them:
:!:
