Top Five Movies for Halloween

Post by tuttle » Thu Oct 10, 2019 11:33 am

Boo!

What are your Top Five Movies you'd recommend for the Halloween season?

You can add a sixth spot if it's a movie the whole family can watch.

Hound of the Baskervilles (2000 - with Matt Frewer)

The Ghost and Mr. Chicken

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow from The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949)

...that's close enough to five.

Two nods to Hound of the Baskervilles. I'll have to check it out.

Last night, Jester discovered a free streaming app called Halloween Flix that has a handful of classics and lots of older campy B (C? D?) horror movies.

I saw a movie when I was a kid that scared the crap out of me. Sadly I can't remember it's name. It was black and white. I remember a women was laid out in her coffin. There was the obligatory thunder storm. Wind blew out the candles. There was a flash of lightning and the dead woman was sitting up in her coffin pointing at her killer.

So the first time I saw the ghost and mr chicken, I'd just gotten home from my first haunted house experience. It was awful. I had a very overactive imagination coupled with the fact there were very real demons in my house (other story, other time). I was 7 or 8.

My dad was up watching it when I got home, and I was scared snotless. He had me stay up and watch the movie with him. I have a great dad.

If you're in a mood to be overwhelmed and bombarded by a strange experimental Japanese cyberpunk horror flick,
look no further than Tetsuo the Iron Man.
