A very bad week for Portagee boys

Post by Hovannes » Wed Jan 15, 2020 11:18 pm

I just returned from a rosary for my friend Jeff, who owned a mobile barbecue catering business. For the past few years he'd struggled with emphysema and finally passed. Jeff was laid out in his apron, wearing his favorite trucker cap with an oven mitt on one hand and a barbecue fork in the other.
The same day I learned of another good friend ----Miguel----a water polo dad as well as in our Boy Scout Troop's Geezer Patrol----hung himself and was discovered at home by his youngest son who is a freshman in High School. His older son is away in college, and his wife had been diagnosed with Cancer in December.
It is all very sad and we're all trying to wrap our brains around this.
If you're so moved, a prayer for Jeff and his elderly mother (who he cared for) and Miguel---especially his family and his youngest son---would be appreciated
DEUS VULT!

Hello FredS

For Jeff & Miguel, and those who mourn and suffer loss....

Hail Mary, full of Grace
The Lord is with you.
Blessed are you among women,
and blessed if the fruit of your womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen
